Upcoming: May Meeting (Tomorrow)

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 7 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

The May meeting will be tomorrow, May 18th @ Union Station. This month we had to delay the meeting a week due to Mother’s Day(not all moms love LEGO). This meeting we will be having a seminar on building life-like trees. Also 1914 Minifig scene contest entries are due tomorrow at the meeting!

KCBricklab is happy to announce our next build contest. Create a 1914 Period Minifigure Scene that uses between 1 and 5 minifigures. The scenes and figures must be as close to the 1914 era as possible. The scene must be able to be incorporated into the 1914 table in someway (even if you decide to not keep them as part of the display), as this will be a part of the contest. You can use any number of props or elements as long as they are LEGO built and fit within the period scene and city. Please keep scene sizes to around a quarter baseplate (16 studs x 16 studs). Be creative! Scenes can be built on or around the currently installed buildings and terrain. Some ideas are: Street vendors, buggy and car accident, kids playing stickball, robbery, runaway cow or horse.

Contest entries do need to be placed on the 1914 table to be judged. Entries do not have to remain on the table for display through the Union Station Centennial Event, but it is highly encouraged. I also would like members with entries to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the meeting start to set them up on the 1914 table. As normal, judging will be by ballot and prizes will be awarded.
