Recap: May 2015 Meeting

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 6 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

We had a pretty low-key meeting last night, but we have a LOT going on. We discussed upcoming events and everyone got a free poly bag kit! So here goes…

We are creating an Amusement Park themed train table to replace the Old Southwestern theme. The plan is to have 5-7 powered rides that will be activated by visitors. There will be more information coming at future meetings.

MakerFaire is getting very close. We are building modules for a GBC and need everyones help making this a success.

Don’t forget June 5th is the First Friday – Bricks of Awesome – Lego art show at Reactor Studio.

June 6th in Jefferson City, MO, KCBricklab will have an L-Guage model rail layout as apart of the Regional NMRA Convention.

Contest! For the on going Nature Connects exhibit at Powell Gardens, we are holding a nature themed build contest for display at Powell Gardens during the Festival of Butterflies (July 31st – August 9th). Vignettes are to be a maximum of 32×32 studs (1 full baseplate) with no overhang, and maximum height of 10 inches. Basically one quibic baseplate. These are due at the June 14th LUG meeting. We have some pretty awesome choices for prizes on this!
